actually i had got used to it in iit bombay. i was never allowed to register online because of backlogs.

my friends and i would gather in the canteen and bitch about the professors and academic section staff, share tip-offs, hatch conspiracies, find loopholes in rules, come up with bright ideas to out-maneuver the bureacracy.. over cigarettes and tea.

but through all the struggle, a bond developed between the staff and us and in the end they were the ones who saved us from the professors' whims.

so after 3 years when i got the 'opportunity' to go round bureacratic circles again but this time in America, it was deja vu and i couldn't beat back the smiles returning to my face..
